In a couple week I'll be giving a talk on solitude and silence and so my radar is on hyperalert for things related. I laid the just-arrived issue of Pilgrimage journal on the table and there on the back cover were words from Henri Nouwen:
Somewhere we know
that without silence words lose their meaning,
that without listening speaking no longer heals,
that without distance closeness cannot cure.
that without silence words lose their meaning,
that without listening speaking no longer heals,
that without distance closeness cannot cure.
